Cedar Porch

We transformed the aging porch on this house into a beautiful and modern jewel box porch full of comfort and function.

The homeowners were tired of their dogs damaging the screens on their old porch. To solve this, we built the new porch frame with a clever design that boasts removable aluminum screen frames that the homeowners can take in for repair if damaged by their dogs or nature.

The porch features cedar throughout the frame and ceiling, lending a natural and inviting look, custom-stained to coordinate with the fence around the property. To reduce costs on the project, we were able to reuse the roof from the old porch after completing structural improvements to make it safe, durable, and code compliant.

Connecting the porch to the house, we added large French patio doors that provide a great view outside from the kitchen, where we also added a new island with a custom stainless steel backsplash.

To complete the porch, we added soffit lighting inside and outside to enhance appeal and we replaced old, slippery tile with a slip-resistant concrete overlay to improve accessibility and maneuverability.
